PLAINFIELD – Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Plainfield Police Director James Abney announced the sentencing of two Plainfield men for a 2021 shooting that resulted in one death and left another victim permanently paralyzed.

On January 12, 2024, Jahaad Ingram, 23, and Zaire Wallace, 30, received an aggregate sentence of 78 years in state prison by Union County Superior Court Judge John Deitch. The sentencing follows their October 31, 2023, conviction for first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, and weapons charges. Both men are required to serve at least 85% of their sentences before they are eligible for parole.

The incident occurred on July 9, 2021, when Plainfield Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at the intersection of Rock Avenue and West Front Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two gunshot victims. Jennifer Vorn, 24, from King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim survived but suffered permanent paralysis. Assistant Prosecutors Christopher Desimone and Melissa Caparruva prosecuted the case.
