A Virginia Beach man is facing multiple felony charges after police responded to a ShotSpotter alert and found a gunshot victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday night. Investigators said officers quickly identified and arrested a suspect following a search of the area.

Officers responded at approximately 10:15 p.m. Tuesday to a ShotSpotter alert in the 600 block of Zephyr Court, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department. When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the 600 block of Crows Nest Court.
Police said the victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening. Additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released.
Suspect Quickly Located
Investigators immediately began canvassing the neighborhood after discovering the wounded man. The effort led officers to Timothy Valentine, 45, of Virginia Beach, who was taken into custody shortly after the shooting.
In announcing the arrest, the department stated that a “ShotSpotter Alert Leads to Arrest on Zephyr Court,” highlighting the role the gunshot detection technology played in the investigation.
Multiple Felony Charges Filed
Valentine was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and reckless handling of a firearm resulting in injury. He was transported to the Virginia Beach City Jail, where authorities said he is being held without bond.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence and reviewing the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
