Westmoreland County Powerball ticket turns into $150K payday

A Power Play multiplier boosted one Pennsylvania Lottery prize from $50K to $150K in Saturday’s drawing

LOYALHANNA TWP., Pa. — A Pennsylvania Lottery player scored a $150K Powerball prize in Westmoreland County after adding the Power Play option to a winning ticket.

The Pennsylvania Lottery announced that a Powerball with Power Play ticket worth $150,000 was sold at Sunoco, located at 2937 State Route 286 in Loyalhanna Township.

The winning ticket matched four of the five white balls drawn — 16, 32, 55, 59 and 64 — along with the red Powerball number 3.

Lottery officials said the ticket’s prize was increased from $50,000 to $150,000 because the player purchased the Power Play option and the multiplier drawn was three.

The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Winners are not known until prizes are claimed and validated.

Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes.

More than 27,300 Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes in the June 6 drawing.
