Wildwood roads underwater as flooding forces drivers to detour

Wildwood, NJ – Heavy flooding left numerous roadways submerged Tuesday, forcing drivers to seek alternate routes as city officials urged motorists to avoid driving through floodwaters.

The City of Wildwood issued an alert warning residents and visitors that multiple streets are impassable. Officials stressed the dangers of attempting to drive through high water, which can cause vehicles to stall or be swept away.

Local crews are monitoring conditions and placing barricades in areas hit hardest by rising water. Drivers are advised to check for updated road closures before traveling.

So far, no injuries or rescues have been reported. The flooding comes as parts of southern New Jersey continue to deal with saturated ground from recent storms.
