Wilkes-Barre Man Faces Federal Charges for Drug Trafficking and Illegal Firearm Possession

SCRANTON, PA – Ras Dalmar Johnson, a 27-year-old resident of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of drug trafficking and firearms violations, as announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

The indictment, dated April 9, 2024, details that on February 1, 2024, Johnson was allegedly in possession of significant quantities of controlled substances, including over 400 grams of fentanyl and over 50 grams of methamphetamine, along with cocaine and marijuana. Additionally, Johnson, who is prohibited from owning firearms, is accused of possessing a Glock 26 handgun to further his drug trafficking activities.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jenny P. Roberts and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics, and the Wilkes-Barre Police Department. This indictment is part of the broader efforts under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) to combat violent crime and gun violence, aiming to enhance community safety through coordinated law enforcement and community engagement.
