Wilmington Man Arrested on Drug and Firearm Charges

WILMINGTON, DE – Delaware State Police have taken 37-year-old Omarr Scott into custody following a detailed investigation into his alleged involvement in drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession.

The arrest occurred on May 23 when law enforcement, including the Delaware State Police New Castle County Drug Unit, Governor’s Task Force, Special Operations Response Team, and the FBI, executed search warrants at two locations. The searches took place at a residence on East Fourth Street in Wilmington and another on Hickman Road in Claymont. Scott was apprehended without incident inside his vehicle at the East Fourth Street address.

During the searches, authorities discovered significant quantities of narcotics, including about 95 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 30 grams of suspected cocaine, and 900 bags of suspected heroin, totaling 6.13 grams. Additionally, multiple firearms were seized, including a stolen loaded .40 caliber handgun, a 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number, a 10mm handgun, another 9mm handgun, and various drug paraphernalia. A computer check confirmed Scott is legally prohibited from possessing firearms.

Scott faces a multitude of charges, including two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in Tier 3 quantity, three counts of possession of a controlled substance in Tier 3 quantity, four counts of possession of a firearm if previously convicted of two violent felonies, two counts of possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited with a controlled substance, two counts of possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, and additional charges related to the weapons found.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $1,000,000 cash bond.
