Cops investigate fatal shooting of woman inside her home

Temple Hills, MD – A woman was found dead inside her Temple Hills home Thursday morning after a shooting that police do not believe was random, prompting a homicide investigation into what appears to be a targeted killing.

At around 8:50 a.m., officers were called to the 6900 block of Westchester Court for reports of a shooting. Inside the residence, they discovered 45-year-old Adia Lipscomb Mingo suffering from trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are now working to identify a suspect and establish a motive. Preliminary findings suggest the incident was not a random act, but no additional details about possible persons of interest have been released.

The quiet residential neighborhood remained sealed off for several hours Thursday as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses, reviewed surveillance footage, and processed the scene.

Police are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward through Crime Solvers.

This is the latest in a series of violent incidents in Prince George’s County under active investigation by the department’s Homicide Unit.
