Man gunned down in broad daylight on Rueckert Avenue in Northeast Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A 20-year-old man was fatally shot in the middle of the day Tuesday in Baltimore’s Northeast District, marking yet another deadly shooting in the city this month.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1:31 p.m. in the 2900 block of Rueckert Avenue. When they arrived, they found the young man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and initially listed in critical condition.

Despite emergency efforts by medical staff, the victim was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Homicide detectives arrived at the scene and have taken over the investigation. No arrests have been announced, and police have not released the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin.

Detectives are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Metro Crime Stoppers.
