Utica Police Arrest Truck Thief

UTICA, NY- Utica Police units were dispatched to a lot off of North Genesee Street regarding an truck with an attached trailer and forklift that had been stolen sometime over the weekend prior.

Later that day the truck and trailer were spotted on Oriskany Street near Schuyler Street. The suspect had to spray painted the truck doors to obscure the business name.

Police were able to pull the suspect over on Whitesboro Street. Jason Morey, 43, was removed from the vehicle and taken to the Utica Police Department.

Morey faces charges of criminal possession of stolen property in the second degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree

The investigation is on-going into the theft and destruction of the vehicle.
