12-Year-Old Girl, Teen Shot in Drive-by Shooting Outside New York City High School

NEW YORK, NY – Two juveniles were shot in a drive-by shooting on Monday outside the Bronx Regional High School in New York City. The New York City Police Department said multiple shots were fired at an individual in the vicinity.

The occupants of the dark-colored sedan yelled at the person and began firing their guns. near Reverend James A. Polite Avenue and East 163rd Street at around 11:25 pm.

Instead, a 16-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl were shot in the hail of gunfire. The girl was struck in the arm and had her torso grazed. The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the chin. They were both treated at Harlem Hospital.

The kids were at the school playground playing basketball. The boy ran to a neighbor’s house for treatment after the shooting. At this time, police have not ruled out the children being the intended targets. No suspects have been identified. No arrests have been made.
