Teen shot and killed in Trenton inside Mercedes

TRENTON, NJ – A 19-year-old man was shot and killed in Trenton Thursday afternoon in the 800 block of Carteret Avenue. Trenton police officers responded to a Shot Spotter gunfire alert in the area at around 1:30 pm.

When officers arrived, they found a male with multiple gunshot wounds inside a white Mercedes SUV.

The victim has been identified as Nay’sean Byrd, 19, of Trenton. At this time, police do not have any suspects in custody.

Byrd was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical services.
