NEW YORK, NY – A gunman responsible for shooting four people and killing one is at large tonight in Brooklyn as New York City police officers continue their search.
Police said the shooting took place inside the basement of an apartment building at 491 East 45 Street in East Flatbush at around 1:45 pm on Saturday.
Officers with the 67th Precinct were dispatched after multiple reports of a shooting inside the building. A 39-year-old male, Emmauel Soray, was shot in the face. He was unconscious and unresponsive when police arrived.
Soray was pronounced dead a short time later.
Three others, a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg; a 27-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the torso, and a 33-year-old woman with gunshot wounds to the arm and buttocks.
The patients were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The 33-year-old woman was treated at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
The shooter remains at large. Police have released any further information regarding this shooting.
