Prisoner escapes NYPD custody through bathroom window

NEW YORK, NY – When 16-year-old police prisoner Anthony Ayala told police he had to go, he really meant he had to go. Ayala escaped from NYPD custody from a bathroom at a police station on Staten Island.

Now, the New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating him.

The incident occurred on Friday at around 10:40 a.m. at 78 Richmond Terrace at the 120th precinct headquarters.

The person, identified as Anthony Ayala, managed to break a window and flee through a bathroom window. He was last seen heading southbound on Wall Street.

Anthony Ayala is described as a 16-year-old male with a medium complexion. He stands approximately 5’7″ tall and weighs around 115 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. Ayala was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, maroon sweatpants, and white slippers.

The NYPD did not release a photo of the escaped teen.
