Deadly Fire on Dickens Street Claims One Life

NEW YORK CITY, NY – On Saturday, a 59-year-old woman lost her life in a residential fire at 1046 Dickens Street.

The call came in at about 7:33 PM, prompting a response from both the police department and the Fire Department of New York (FDNY).

Upon extinguishing the fire, FDNY personnel facilitated the victim’s transport to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital by the Emergency Medical Services where she was later pronounced dead. No other injuries have been reported at this point.

The FDNY Fire Marshall is tasked with determining the fire’s cause, while the police continue their investigation.
