CAMDEN, NJ – Daniel Baldwin, a 32-year-old federal inmate currently serving a 10-year sentence for possessing child [censored]ography, admitted to possessing additional explicit materials while incarcerated. U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger made the announcement.
According to court documents and statements, corrections officers discovered an SD card concealed in Baldwin’s clothing in June 2022.
The subsequent search revealed hundreds of images and videos of child abuse, including depictions of prepubescent minors.
As Baldwin had a previous conviction for the same crime, he now faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years, a maximum penalty of 20 years, and a $250,000 fine. His sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 28.
The FBI’s Special Agents were credited by U.S. Attorney Sellinger for their investigative work leading to Baldwin’s guilty plea. The staff at FCI Fort Dix was also acknowledged for their assistance in the investigation.
