Man Who Fought Off Possible Carjacker Shot

CINCINNATI, OH – A 57-year-old man is currently recovering at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center following an armed robbery incident in Lincoln Heights during the early hours of Friday.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 12 a.m., an unidentified individual brandished a firearm and forcefully entered the man’s vehicle on Simmons Street.

A subsequent struggle led to the man being shot in the lower torso. The suspect and victim then both fled the scene.

Despite his injuries, the victim managed to transport himself to the hospital.

His wounds are deemed non-life-threatening. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office detectives are actively investigating the incident and have met with the victim to gather further details.
