Hartsdale High School Teacher Charged for Lewd Images of Children

WHITE PLAINS, NY – Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Ivan J. Arvelo, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations, announced that Kostas Fekkas, also known as “Constantine Fekkas” and “C.J. Justice,” was arrested on September 14. Fekkas faces charges of possession, receipt, and attempted transfer of obscene material involving minors. U.S. Magistrate Judge Judith C. McCarthy ordered that Fekkas be detained pending further proceedings.

In December 2022, an undercover agent posed as a 13-year-old girl named “Riley” and interacted with a user named “C.J.Justice” on Kik, a mobile messaging app.

The email tied to this Kik account to his school email account.

“C.J.” introduced himself as a 30-year-old high school physics teacher from New York. The user sent explicit material and made sexual overtures to the agent.

Law enforcement seized Fekkas’s cellphone in March 2023 and conducted a search. They found sexually explicit material involving a minor, identified as “Victim-1,” using a mobile application called HideU on Fekkas’s phone. Law enforcement confirmed Victim-1’s age as 12 at the time the explicit material was created.

Fekkas, 34, of Hartsdale, New York, is charged with attempted transfer of obscene material, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years; possession of child [censored]ography, also with a maximum sentence of 10 years; and receipt of child [censored]ography, which has a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
