Note-Passing Robber Unsuccessful at D.C. Check Cashing Store

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A suspect attempted to rob a check cashing store in Southeast, D.C, Tuesday afternoon by passing a note demanding money to an employee who refused to comply.

The incident occurred at around 12:55 p.m. at a check cashing store located in the 1200 block of Marion Barry Avenue, Southeast. After the employee did not comply with the note’s demand, the suspect fled the scene.

A surveillance camera captured the suspect.
