Bold Attempted Robbery Thwarted in D.C., Suspect Arrested

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A potentially dangerous situation was averted in Northwest, D.C., leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old man for attempted robbery. The incident, which unfolded in the 3300 block of 11th Street, showcases the swift action of the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Third District detectives.

On Wednesday morning, around 8:17 a.m., Nathaniel Golphin allegedly approached a victim, feigning the possession of a weapon in his pocket, and demanded property. However, the situation took a turn when the victim discerned the absence of an actual weapon and courageously yelled for help. This act of bravery led Golphin to flee the scene, ultimately failing to obtain any property from the intended victim.

The authorities’ quick response resulted in Golphin’s arrest on the same day. He now faces charges of Attempt to Commit Robbery
