Leonia, NJ – The Leonia Police Department has issued a winter storm warning effective from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, urging residents to prepare for severe weather conditions.
Residents are advised to remove their cars from Snow Emergency Streets immediately to avoid impoundment. The department emphasizes that alternate side of the street parking will be strictly enforced to aid the Department of Public Works (DPW) in snow plowing operations. In response to the impending storm, Leonia Public Schools and the Leonia Public Library will be closed on Tuesday. Additionally, garbage collection services are cancelled, and Borough Hall will be shut, with employees working remotely and available via email and phone.
The police department encourages residents to sign up for Nixle alerts and notifications for real-time updates. Information on how to register can be found on the borough’s official website.
