Search Underway for Suspects Who Fired at Officer in Southeast D.C

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Detectives in D.C. are calling on the public to help identify suspects involved in an assault on a Special Police Officer. The Metro Police Department’s First District Detectives Unit is leading the investigation into the event on Wednesday evening.

Around 6:24 p.m. on April 3, an altercation broke out between the suspects and a Special Police Officer who was on duty within an establishment in the 400 block of 14th Street SE. Following the argument, as the suspects departed, one discharged a firearm in the direction of the officer before both individuals escaped the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported to the MPD.

Authorities have obtained surveillance footage showing the suspects.
