Columbus, OH – A bar security guard has been sentenced to life in prison for a sucker-punch attack that resulted in the death of a 37-year-old man outside an Ohio bar. Chrystian Foster, 34, learned his fate on Friday in the death of Gregory Coleman Jr. whose family expressed profound grief in court.

The victim was attacked in the early morning hours of September 5, 2022, outside a bar in Columbus resulting in severe injuries. The incident led to a coma for Coleman, who was placed on life support with uncertain chances of recovery after sustaining a fatal blow which ensued in a fatal outcome.

Coleman’s family has since filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the defendants involved in the attack and the now-closed bar. Hosea Smith, who represents the victim’s family, made their intentions clear during the court proceedings, emphasizing the irreparable harm caused by the tragic event.
