Chesapeake Beach, MD – A tragic accident claimed the life of a pedestrian on the night of June 4, 2024. At approximately 9:23 p.m., Calvert County Sheriff’s Patrol Bureau responded to a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Maryland Route 260 and Paris Pines Court.
The incident involved a 2020 Toyota Rav 4 driven by Marilyn Shane Maloy, a 30-year-old resident of Chesapeake Beach. Preliminary investigations indicate that Maloy was traveling east on Maryland Route 260 when her vehicle struck Michael Frank Brooks, 69, of Owings. Brooks, who was wearing dark clothing, was walking in the travel portion of the roadway at the time of the accident.
Brooks sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Maloy, who suffered minor injuries, was treated and released on-site.
