The suspect, Tyus James Terrell, sought in connection with the murder of a 26-year-old man on November 14, 2023, was arrested on July 10, 2024. The U.S. Marshals Service notified Prince William County police of Terrell’s apprehension by their Fugitive Task Force in the area of Dale Blvd and Neabsco Mills Rd in Woodbridge. Terrell, 27, of the 100 block of Mansfield St. in Fredericksburg, was charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held without bond, and a court date is pending.
The victim was identified as Quatrail Raynard Smalls, 26, of Big Stone Gap, VA. Detectives had identified Terrell as the suspect the day after the fatal shooting, and a reward was offered for his arrest and conviction.
The Prince William County Police Department had previously increased the reward for information on Terrell’s whereabouts following the fatal altercation in the 3700 block of Wharf Ln.
