LAKEWOOD, NJ – The Lakewood Fire Department recently completed a high-rise operations training session at a construction site located at 1600 Avenue of the States, Lakewood. This training was aimed at enhancing the firefighters’ proficiency in handling emergencies in high-rise buildings, with a focus on standpipe system operations.
During the training, firefighters practiced using a drafting tank, a skill crucial for areas without fire hydrants. The Pleasant Plains Fire Department assisted by providing a tanker tender and drafting tank, though not required for the site, adding valuable hands-on experience to the exercise.
Yehuda Beer, Fire District Administrator, expressed appreciation for the support from building owner Mark Chopp and project manager Chaim Friedman, whose cooperation made the training possible. He also thanked the Pleasant Plains Fire Department for their contribution.
