HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ—New Jersey State Police from the Bridgeton Barracks are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred on Roadstown Road on the evening of July 27. Troopers arrived at the scene around 7:44 pm to find a 52-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, a married couple, deceased from gunshot wounds.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the woman was shot by the man, who then took his own life.

The investigation, still in its early stages, has shown no signs of forced entry or involvement of a third party at their residence.

The identities of the deceased have not been released due to privacy laws concerning domestic violence cases. Autopsy results are pending to provide further clarity on the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
