New York City Man Stabbed in the Back After Accidentally Bumping Into Another

NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man connected to a stabbing in Manhattan on Friday evening.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 8:43 p.m. in the area of 1st Avenue and East 14th Street. A 29-year-old man was walking down a set of stairs when he accidentally bumped into an unidentified man. After a brief verbal dispute, the assailant produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the back.

The suspect fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported by emergency medical services to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

Police have released media depicting the individual they believe is responsible and are asking for any information that may assist in identifying the suspect. The investigation remains ongoing.
