Police Apprehend Malden Man on Firearm Charges

Boston, MA – Early Monday at approximately 3:00 AM, Boston police officers from District A-1, Downtown, arrested Davon Olaes, 36, of Malden on several firearm-related charges.

The arrest took place after officers responded to a reported fight near 100 Warrenton Street. While en route, officers were informed of gunfire in a parking garage at 270 Tremont Street.

A vehicle fitting the description of a suspect’s car was found outside the garage with its front passenger door open. After engaging with the vehicle’s occupants, the passenger fled, instigating a pursuit during which he discarded a firearm. Olaes was apprehended shortly after.

Police subsequently found a DB9 Diamondback with a loaded chamber and two additional rounds, along with .22 caliber ammunition in the vehicle. In their investigation, officers also recovered spent shell casings at the scene. Olaes faces charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, and Two Counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, pending arraignment in Boston Municipal Court.
