JACKSON, N.J. — A large sign promoting a planned 185,000-square-foot warehouse and retail complex at the intersection of Whitesville Road and South Hope Chapel Road has been defaced with vulgar graffiti. The person responsible let the developer of the project know their opinion on the proposed construction in a once remote and wooded section of town.

The sign, meant to advertise the forthcoming project, now features an orange spray-painted image depicting a man urinating on the plaza. On the reverse side, a large “X” and the outline of a person were also sprayed onto the sign.

It remains unclear when the act of vandalism occurred or who is responsible. Local authorities have not yet confirmed whether the incident has been reported to the police.

The defaced sign remains fully visible to drivers passing through the busy intersection, sparking curiosity and concern among local residents about the message behind the graffiti.

The company behind the warehouse project has not issued a statement on the incident as of Monday.
