Brooklyn home health aide wanted for stealing nearly $1,000 from elderly man’s account

Brooklyn caregiver accused of draining elderly man’s bank account, police say.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are searching for a home health aide accused of stealing nearly $1,000 from the bank account of a 58-year-old man in Brooklyn.

The incident occurred on Friday, November 29, at approximately 10:15 a.m. when the victim asked his home health aide to withdraw $140 from an ATM near East 108th Street and Glenwood Road.

Instead, the unidentified aide went to an ATM near East 105th Street and Flatlands Avenue and made multiple unauthorized withdrawals totaling $963.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading east on Flatlands Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect to contact the NYPD.
