PHILADELPHIA — Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Jonathan Stanley Garcia Vasquez, a Salvadoran national wanted for aggravated homicide and ties to a terrorist organization, to El Salvador. Garcia was removed on Feb. 14 following a final order of removal.

Garcia had been sought by authorities in El Salvador, who issued an arrest warrant for him on Aug. 7, 2018. His deportation follows years of legal proceedings in the United States after he was apprehended near Hidalgo, Texas, in 2016 for entering the country without inspection.

“Today’s successful removal of Jonathan Stanley Garcia Vasquez highlights our unyielding commitment to the safety and security of the American people,” said ERO Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane.

A U.S. immigration judge ordered Garcia removed in absentia on Oct. 30, 2018. His deportation was coordinated with the Security Alliance for Fugitive Enforcement task force in El Salvador.
