PIKESVILLE, MD – Maryland State Police arrested two men and seized loaded firearms following separate alleged armed road rage incidents in Baltimore and Prince George’s counties.
The suspects, identified as William Shockey, 71, of Baltimore, and Charles Provost, 70, of College Park, face charges of first- and second-degree assault along with firearm-related offenses. Shockey is being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center, while Provost awaits an initial court appearance.
On February 18, troopers from the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack responded to a complaint near I-695 and Liberty Road. The victim reported that a driver in a red Mustang, later identified as Shockey, brandished a firearm. No injuries were reported.
Investigators from the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative located Shockey’s vehicle the following day in the same area. After interviewing Shockey at his residence, authorities executed a search warrant and seized a loaded handgun.
Hours later, a separate road rage incident was reported on Route 1 in Prince George’s County. Troopers identified Provost as the suspect and located his vehicle at his College Park residence. A search of the vehicle and home led to the recovery of a loaded handgun.
Authorities have not reported any injuries in either incident.
