Man beaten with bicycle in brutal broad-daylight attack in Central Park

A man was left critically injured after being bashed in the head with a bicycle in a brutal Upper West Side attack, cops said.

MANHATTAN, NY — A 45-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after being repeatedly struck in the head with a bicycle during a violent assault on the Upper West Side, police said.

The incident occurred around 5:55 p.m. Wednesday near West 82nd Street and Central Park West, when two unidentified individuals on bicycles approached the victim. One of the suspects used his bicycle to strike the man multiple times in the head, resulting in serious injuries, according to the NYPD.

The suspects fled the scene on bicycles heading southbound along Central Park West, police said.

Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

The NYPD has not released descriptions of the suspects or a possible motive for the attack. The investigation remains ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward as they continue to search for the individuals responsible.
