Suffolk County store sells $1M Powerball winner

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A second-prize-winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold in Hampton Bays for the March 26 drawing, the New York Lottery announced Thursday.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kings Hampton Bays C-Store, located at 239 West Montauk Highway. The ticket matched all five white balls drawn, missing only the red Power Ball.

The Powerball drawing is held three times a week — Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday — at 10:59 p.m., with players selecting numbers from a field of one to 69, and the Power Ball drawn separately from a field of one to 26.

Winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. The identity of the ticket holder has not yet been disclosed.
