Bensalem, PA – Bensalem Police apprehended 34-year-old Ian Evans of Shipley Place, Philadelphia, following a month-long investigation into his predatory behavior toward a minor.

Evans, who allegedly believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl, was arrested as he exited his workplace, where he had planned to meet the juvenile for a sexual encounter.

Key Points:

  • Predatory Behavior Exposed: Ian Evans, 34, engaged in explicit communications with someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl, sending sexual content and planning a meetup over a month-long period.
  • Police Sting Operation: Bensalem Police conducted the investigation, ensuring no child was ever at risk, and arrested Evans as he left work on April 4, 2025.
  • Charges and Bail: Evans faces charges including Sexual Abuse of Children and Unlawful Contact with a Minor, with bail set at $1,000,000, of which he must pay 10% to be released.

The investigation began on March 4, 2025, when Evans initiated contact with an individual he thought was a 13-year-old female via a social media/dating app. The conversation quickly escalated to text messages, during which Evans sent explicit photographs of himself and described sexual acts he intended to perform with the minor.

Over several weeks, he continued sending pornographic material, including videos of himself and content depicting acts he wished to carry out, while repeatedly requesting nude photos from the supposed juvenile.

Unbeknownst to Evans, no child was involved; the communications were part of a police operation to apprehend him. After he agreed to meet in a wooded area behind his Bensalem workplace, authorities secured an arrest warrant.

At 3:30 p.m. on April 4, authorities took Evans into custody without incident. He was arraigned before District Justice Michael Gallagher and charged with Sexual Abuse of Children, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Corruption of Minors, and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility. Unable to post the required $100,000 cash portion of his $1,000,000 bail, Evans was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
