BUFFALO, N.Y. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has removed Juan Velasquez, a 45-year-old Salvadoran national with multiple felony convictions, from the United States to El Salvador, the agency announced.
Velasquez, who was previously deported in 2004 following a conviction for statutory rape, illegally reentered the U.S. at an unknown time and location. He was later convicted in Suffolk County, New York, on September 21, 2015, of multiple offenses including first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree rape, and aggravated sexual abuse. He received a nine-year prison sentence.
He was also convicted for violating sex offender registry requirements and received an additional one-year sentence. On July 11, 2023, Velasquez was convicted again for sex assault: carnal abuse.
Following his release from state custody, ICE Buffalo arrested Velasquez on April 18, 2025, and reinstated his original order of removal. He was held at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia, New York, before being deported on May 15.
ICE officials urge the public to report criminal activity through the agency’s online tip form.
