LANDOVER, Md. – A 50-year-old Upper Marlboro woman has died several days after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a busy highway in the Landover area, police announced Sunday.
Tamica Wilson was struck Aug. 31 near Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Columbia Park Road, according to Prince George’s County Police. She was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and died Friday.

Wilson Was Struck While Crossing Highway
Officers were called to the intersection area at approximately 1:10 p.m. and found Wilson in the roadway.
She was rushed to a hospital with injuries initially described as serious and life-threatening.
“The preliminary investigation revealed Wilson was attempting to cross Martin Luther King Jr. Highway when, for reasons now under investigation, she was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound,” police said.
Wilson survived for several days before dying Friday.
Police have not released the identity of the driver or described the vehicle involved. The department also has not announced any charges or citations.
Police Looking for Witnesses and Video
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is now investigating the crash as a fatal pedestrian collision.
The driver was not injured and stayed at the scene following the collision, according to police.
Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from people who witnessed the crash or may have captured it on a dash camera, doorbell camera or other surveillance system.
“Even if you believe your footage may not be significant, it could provide valuable information to assist investigators,” police said.
