Man Shot and Killed on Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA—A tragic shooting occurred on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at approximately 4:55 PM on Germantown Avenue, resulting in the death of a 43-year-old Black male.

The victim was shot multiple times while on the highway at 1501 Germantown Avenue and was quickly transported by police to Temple Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at 5:13 PM.

The Philadelphia Police Department has secured the crime scene, but no arrests have been made as of now. Additionally, no weapons have been recovered related to this incident.

Authorities are actively investigating and seeking any information that can assist in solving this crime.

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is urging anyone with information to contact them at 215-686-3334 or through the PPD’s tipline at 215-686-TIPS. Tipsters have the option to remain anonymous.

There is a standing reward of $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case, as is standard for all homicides in the city.
