ROXBURY, MA — Boston Police Department reported the arrest of 48-year-old Alexander Delarosa of Boston for firearm-related charges following a shooting incident on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
The incident occurred around 11:30 AM at 10 Roxbury Street. Officers from District B-2 responded to a call about a shooting and immediately commenced a search for both the victim and the suspect. Surveillance footage showed a male victim moving towards Malcolm X Boulevard. The victim later checked himself into a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
Further surveillance analysis helped officers to identify and distribute images of the suspect. A detective spotted an individual matching the description near Centre Street and Estrella Street. As officers approached, Delarosa attempted to hide and was seen placing his hand into his pocket, refusing to comply with officers’ commands to show his hands.
Officers managed to detain Delarosa swiftly, discovering a Regent firearm with three live rounds and one spent shell casing in his sweater pocket upon searching him. The quick response and detailed surveillance contributed to the successful apprehension and weapons recovery.
