Suspect in fatal baltimore shooting surrenders

BALTIMORE, Md. — A suspect in a fatal May shooting has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after turning himself in to authorities last week.

Jajuan Smith, 34, surrendered to police on August 15 at Baltimore Police Headquarters, located at 601 East Fayette Street. Smith was promptly taken into custody by Warrant Apprehension detectives and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. He has been charged with the murder of 41-year-old Corey Robinson.

The incident occurred on May 27 in the 2700 block of West Fairmont Avenue. Southwest District patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting around 12:40 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Robinson suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Baltimore Police Department.
