Police Nab Suspect in Violent Shooting on Wilhelm Street

BALTIMORE, MD— A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting that took place on September 29 in the 1800 block of Wilhelm Street.

Uriah Cunningham, of Baltimore, was apprehended by Central District officers on October 5. Detectives believe Cunningham is responsible for the death of 43-year-old Melvin Rogers, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds following a ShotSpotter alert around 11:17 p.m. that night. Rogers was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Cunningham was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility and faces additional charges related to the incident.
