WASHINGTON, DC — A man sitting on his moped in Northeast DC was attacked and carjacked late last month, and police are now searching for the suspect responsible.

The incident happened on Monday, December 30, at approximately 5:37 p.m., in the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue NE. The victim reported that the suspect approached, attacked him, and forcibly removed him from the moped before fleeing the scene on the stolen vehicle.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect and the stolen moped. Photos have been released as part of the investigation to help identify the individual involved.
