BURTONSVILLE, Md. — A Montgomery County man has hit big in the Maryland Lottery for the third time, claiming a $50,000 prize from a Money Bags scratch-off ticket, officials announced.
The Burtonsville resident, who previously won $10,000 and $50,000 in past drawings, plans to use his latest winnings on home expenses rather than reinvesting in the stock market.
“This time, it’s going into my house. The stock market’s not so good these days,” he said.
He purchased the $10 scratch-off at Sagar Beer and Wine in Gaithersburg. Upon realizing he had won, the loyal lottery player, who goes by the nickname “Bag of the Money,” said he felt extremely happy.
His last major win came in March 2023 on the $50,000 Cash game. While he is keeping his latest windfall private, sharing the news only with family, he plans to take a brief break from playing before resuming his hobby.
