BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Police are searching for a suspect who struck a 71-year-old man in the head on a Brooklyn subway platform last month, leaving the victim injured before fleeing on a train, the NYPD announced Thursday.

Victim attacked while exiting train

The incident took place at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, within the NYPD’s 84th Precinct and Transit District 30. Police say the victim had just exited a northbound “3” train at the Clark Street station when he was approached from behind by an unknown individual.

The suspect struck the victim in the back of the head with an unidentified object, causing him to fall onto the platform. Emergency responders transported the victim to Cobble Hill Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition with pain and swelling to his head.

Suspect fled the scene on subway

Authorities report that the suspect boarded a northbound “3” train following the assault and fled the area. No arrest has been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police have released an image of the individual they are seeking in connection with the assault and are urging the public to assist with identifying the suspect.
