WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with two daytime robberies in the Navy Yard area, both involving stolen headphones and similar tactics, police said Thursday.

Headphone robberies happened a week apart
The first incident occurred on April 2 around 9:04 a.m. at the intersection of 1st Street and M Street, Southeast. According to police, the suspect approached the victim and snatched a pair of headphones before fleeing the scene.
Exactly one week later, on April 9 at approximately 4:36 p.m., a similar robbery was reported in the 900 block of 1st Street, Southeast. The suspect once again grabbed headphones from the victim and fled.
Juvenile suspect charged after investigation
Following an investigation by Metropolitan Police detectives, a 16-year-old male from Southwest D.C. was arrested and charged with robbery in connection to both incidents. Police did not release the suspect’s name due to his age.
