The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating two unrelated shooting incidents that occurred within 30 minutes of each other Saturday afternoon in different parts of the city.
The first shooting took place around 1:07 p.m. in the 18th District, on the 300 block of South 56th Street. Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire. An adult male victim was transported to HUP Cedar Hospital by private vehicle. His condition has not been released.
Shortly after, at approximately 1:33 p.m., a second shooting occurred in the 39th District on the 4100 block of Germantown Avenue. In that case, an adult male victim was also taken by private vehicle to Temple University Hospital. No information has been provided regarding his medical status.
Authorities said it is not believed the two shootings are connected. No arrests have been made in either case.
Investigations ongoing, no motive identified
Police have not identified suspects or a motive in either shooting, and the identities of the victims have not been disclosed. Investigators continue to interview witnesses and review surveillance footage where available.
Both cases remain under active investigation by their respective district detectives.
