WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two teenagers were arrested in connection with an armed carjacking involving a knife that took place Tuesday in the 2100 block of 14th Street NW, police announced.

According to investigators, around 8:50 p.m., the suspects approached a victim who was exiting their vehicle and demanded the keys while displaying a knife. After taking the vehicle, the suspects fled the area but were located a short time later by responding officers.

The Metropolitan Police Department arrested a 17-year-old male from Northwest, D.C., and a 15-year-old male from Southeast, D.C. Both were charged with Armed Carjacking (Knife).

Victim not injured during incident

Authorities confirmed the victim was not physically harmed.

The recovered vehicle was returned to the owner, and detectives are continuing to investigate any possible connections to other recent carjackings.
