Brick Township, NJ — A 54-year-old Brick Township man is facing charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash that left one passenger injured, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced Wednesday.

On Tuesday around 8 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Schoener Drive and Brick Boulevard, where a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro had slammed into a utility pole. Investigators said the driver, identified as Nicholas Lotito, along with two passengers, fled the area on foot.

One passenger was later taken to Ocean University Medical Center by a friend and treated for injuries before being released, while the other passenger was not injured. Police located Lotito walking back toward his home and took him into custody without incident.

Lotito was transported to Ocean University Medical Center for treatment of his own crash-related injuries. Authorities obtained a court-authorized blood draw, with lab results still pending.

After medical clearance, Lotito was booked at the Ocean County Jail and remains held pending a detention hearing.
