Warm, dry weather builds across New Jersey after early week showers

TRENTON — New Jersey will see a shift toward sunnier, hotter conditions through the end of the week after scattered showers taper off Tuesday afternoon.

Today, scattered showers are expected mainly after 2 p.m., with otherwise mostly sunny skies and a high near 80 degrees. Winds will be light from the northeast around 5 mph. Rain chances are at 30%, with minimal accumulation expected.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with temperatures dipping to around 66 degrees and calm winds following a light easterly breeze.

On Wednesday, skies will remain mostly sunny with highs near 82. Winds will be calm in the morning before shifting southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. The night will be partly cloudy with a low around 66.

Thursday marks the beginning of a warming trend, with sunny conditions and a high near 88. Winds will remain light and southerly.

Friday is forecast to be the hottest day of the week, with a high near 94 under clear skies. Overnight lows will stay warm, around 75, under partly cloudy conditions.
