Cumberland restaurant manager hits $140K jackpot on FAST PLAY ticket at Sheetz

Cumberland, MD – A Maryland restaurant manager is holding a winning FAST PLAY ticket worth $140,569 after what started as a routine visit to a Sheetz in Cumberland turned into a life-changing stroke of luck.

Scott Twigg of Cumberland was cashing in $100 worth of small lottery wins on Sept. 7 at the Sheetz location at 429 Virginia Avenue when he decided to try his luck on a $10 FAST PLAY Lucky Numbers progressive jackpot ticket. The move paid off in a big way—delivering a top prize that had steadily climbed past the $140,000 mark.

Initially aiming to play a MONOPOLY™ scratch-off game, Twigg pivoted after not finding the ticket he wanted and instead played several $5 FAST PLAY games before purchasing the $10 Lucky Numbers ticket. The real surprise came when he scanned the ticket and was instructed to see the cashier. That’s when he learned he had just hit the progressive jackpot.

The winning ticket matched a lucky number—8—over an icon marked Progressive Jackpot, confirming the win. The progressive FAST PLAY games increase in real time with each purchase statewide, starting at $100,000 and growing until someone claims the top prize. As of two days after Twigg’s win, the jackpot had already reset and climbed back above $101,000.

The 140K win won’t end Twigg’s work schedule, but he says the payout will help him make big financial moves, including plans to purchase a home and car, with the remainder going into savings.

The Sheetz store that sold the winning ticket will receive a $1,000 bonus.
